  • 1 box of two (2) pre-made pie crusts (softened)

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • ½ cup of flour

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Peel, core, and slice equal amounts of both varieties of apple.

  • Pour the combined apple slices into a pie plate until it forms a mound. Move that amount of apple slices to a large mixing bowl.

  • Mix dry ingredients and combine with the apple slices in the mixing bowl.

  • Place one pie crust into the bottom of the pie plate.

  • Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.

  • Place the other pie crust on top of the pie. Wrap excess top crust under bottom crust edge, pressing edges together to seal; flute.

  • If a whole pie crust is used for the top, cut slits or shapes in several places in the top crust.

  • Bake at 375°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with 2- to 3-inch wide strips of foil after first 15 to 20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning.
